IPK-EBP: SHLOK AGNIHOTRI AND THE TALONS OF HIS PAST.

Post by SAYAN18 on 2013-09-29, 18:18

Hello all you wonderful readers and ardent fans of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon- Ek Baar Phir. Toh yeh bataiye doston how were the episodes of the week that went by? It’s wonderful to finally see Astha and Shlok lock horns more frequently than before. A lot of eventful things happened this week be it Shlok saving Astha from the rickshaw driver, the debate on female inferiority and gender equality, the duo leaving for Kolhapur etc etc the week that passed by was full on paisa vasool.
Apart from all these there was one scene in particular that stood out, where it felt ki there is more than what meets the eyes. Any Guesses?? Chalo main hi bata deti hoon….the scene is the one where the viewers come face to face to that side of Shlok that was never shown before. Kudos to Avinash Sachdev for pulling the aggressiveness so amazingly well.
Shlok’s temper, him getting angry for nothing and everything is not new but the degree to which it it escalated in the Friday episode surely left one thinking and questioning ki aisa kya hua hai in Shlok’s past that forces him to turn into…. well a “Rakshas”. Clearly something has happened in the past and we have seen and heard bit and pieces of the same in Flashes from time to time….. but the degree of damage done, the impact that particular incident/person/chapter had in Shlok’s life has made him an utterly bitter person. It’s not that the Guy is incapable of feelings or emotions because he clearly sensed Astha discomfort and fear of darkness and even made an attempt to put her at ease, but the moment she showed some compassion all hell broke loose…….and then it was all guns blaring!!!!

IPK-EBP is certainly not the first show where one has come across the Hero forcefully pulling and pushing the Heroine like she is some lifeless toy, inflicting pain while holding her by the arms or wrist etc etc…It’s like a part and parcel of Hate-Love stories but the last few minutes of the Friday Episode leaves you too stunned to even react. After the episode ended Shlok’s actions, his words forced me to think and his one line amidst all that verbal war“Ladki ho, Ladki ki tarah raho” looked quite out of place. “Kya kar rahi ho tum, Kyun mere kareeb aane ki koshish kar rahi ho?, Kyun mujhe har baar chillane par majboor kar rahi ho etc etc were perfectly in sync because the game of attraction has already started. There is something about Astha and her antics that is slowly drawing Shlok towards her which he clearly does not want but is helpless about it…..so keeping this facts in mind whatever Shlok said to Astha when she tried to help him by removing the melted wax off his finger is kinda expected but why the “Females are inferior to Males” talk out of the blue?
Why does Shlok insist on Astha behaving like a Girl and be in her limits when she fearlessly answers him back? Why is the fact that she does not care a damn who he is affect him so much? Could it be that Shlok was never like this at all? That at a point of time he never really believed that Men are superior to Women but that belief was broken by somebody which is why he is forced to believe that Women are weaklings? Did the woman who he keeps having flashes about lead him to believe this? Sochne waali baat hai???
Just like the recorded mantra he plays regarding “Woman and them being weak”, the display of rage when he is addressed as Rakshas is another intriguing aspect of Shlok’s character sketch. If i am not mistaken his is the 2nd time Astha called Shlok “Rakshas” on his face and like the first time it brought out his aggressive side, a side that has no control (From his after reactions). Shlok gets so consumed by anger and pain that he does not realize what he ends up doing, like in this case hurting Astha.
The Precap was quite interesting because here was a Man who just the previous night had fought a Rikshaw driver and saved Astha, seen breaking the window of the hotel room they were stuck in asking her to leave. Iss ek scene se patha chal jaata hai ki how strongly the talons of the past have clutched onto Shlok affecting his every action, word and life. It surely would be interesting to see how Astha becomes instrumental in bringing Shlok out of this mess and how this love story will kick start.

Superb AK.. yes this guy is haunted by his past. And try as he might, Astha keeps reminding him of it.

His back story will be interesting to see.

He has fallen in love with the girl ... And he does not want to ...he is fighting the feeling of love ..So he gets angry and shouts at her and scolds her so that she goes away ... And does not come near him .. Because the more she is near him .. The more he will fall for her ...

I am only a week behind in episodes now, managed to catch up some, but they have been logging heads from the beginning, a lot of the times contrived reasons as excuse, and your saying locking horns more then before? and a temper worse then before? seriously? I must watch Fridays episode to c wat he did that was any worse then before
