Working On sets – Murphy’s Law at Play – Things that make you go… “Oh, No!”

Shoot at Film City – Qubool Hai

We have seen things go wrong. A light man falling from the parapet and breaking his leg was one thing. A socket blew and while trying to fix it, another light man burnt his thumb. For the photo shoot on Qubool Hai, the “green screen” was tied however, wind pick up and it almost fell on the artists. For a shoot on Mudh Island, during rains, more than 100 light sockets blew. These are all the risks that one takes while shooting. On Suvreen Guggal, a light man got hit on shoulder when a 4k light fell on him. A make up man got hurt while shooting in Mudh Island when a glass from a window broke and fell. Accidents. They happen on daily basis. Falling, scraping knees and hands are part of the action sequence. Shaleen Malhotra (ACP Ajrun Suryakant Rawte), was to crawl in an air-conditioning vent and he scraped his elbow as he did takes.

As a practice, before the shoot, a Ganpati stuti is always sung and camera is rolled so that God may bless that day’s shoot. We at Forum 32 wish all the shows on Television peaceful and harmonious shoots with minimal accidents and mishaps.

Shoot at Film City – Arjun Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek
A televsision series is lot of hard work. Excruciating hours, pressure of telecast, location changes are just part of the game. Obviously every industry has its own set of pressures. However, certain aspect of television industry are unique. And Murphy’s law is applicable more often than not.

Yesterday, the shoot at Film city for Arjun – Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek was going on. A bus, and ETF team reach it to stop. Behzaad Khan (ACP Sameer Rathore) was driving the ETF Jeep when as he applied breaks, it did not stop where it was supposed to and hit a tree. Behzaad and Shital Shah (Aayesha Kapoor) were not hurt, just a whiplash. However, things can go wrong. Terribly wrong.

Hmmm.. never thought of these things.. its so easy to criticize the end product, never realizing what happens during the filming of it.
