Shaadi mubarak Ho Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla

Post by slmu on 2014-02-14, 13:13

The 'sirf Ruhi ke liye' shaadi was completed in full South Indian style throwing in a bit of fusion with the North Indian 'ghat bandhan' done by Ruhi  :)

It had the usual fun parts with the bride and groom carried for the varmala

The solemn bits..

with Raman turning his face away while tying the mangalsutra

Ruhi doing the ghat bandhan was emotional

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they showed the groom taking the toe part being shown

Pheras :)

and the unwilling bride and groom having to pose for photos  :lol!:

Ishita's grahpravesh is done Punjabi style with an impatient Raman wanting to go to work  Rolling Eyes  and the present of a honeymoon suite by his siblings was simply too good  :lol!: .. Simi wanting to give tips to Ishita while Raman is sick because of the sambhar probably  ROFL

Hilarious precap with the contraceptive  :*lol*:

Since there has obviously been some research into South Indian weddings.. it would have been better if it had been done properly. Auspicious occasions there is never any onion let alone garlic used for cooking and we do not serve idlis for lunch.. that is breakfast.

Shaadi mubarak ho Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla  cheers

hug1  love you for getting me the pics Zu

Is this a true-blue Tamil Brahmin wedding, Shanthi?
I am a Keralite... and our weddings are much simpler... not many rituals... barely lasts 10 minutes! ROFL
But isn't there some ritual where the bride and groom slap turmeric powder on each other? My friend's sister married an out of the state Brahmin... and it was a game... the one who finishes the turmeric first wins... the wily Keralite bride worked on the turmeric by the handfuls at first and later got tired of the "slow" pace... so she simply picked it up by the platter and emptied it over the groom!!!

Yes Appu, this was a full fledged Tamil Brahmin wedding.. we don't have the turmeric powder ritual .. perhaps some other state does? My nephew married a Andhra brahmin girl who had a couple of rituals we don't..

Clever bride  :lol!:

Shanti  Kiss

Loved to see this unique wedding...its rare to see this on television...esp hindi shows so enjoyed it completely. Yes I was glad they had done research and did the rituals much authenticly..except the garlic rasam :P

the Bhallas enjoyed it thoroughly...and I liked how Mrs Bhalla was addressing Ishu..she has accpeted her pretty much whole heartedly.

Poor Raman is sick because of eating spicy food  :lol!:

where did the contraceptive come from  :*lol*:

Ishu is going to give one big lecture now :P

The contraceptive was hilarious.. and its ridiculous how the Bhallas think these two are actually going to be intimate  ROFL

Poor Raman, already sick.. last thing he needs is a lecturing SP bahu  :*lol*:

literally burnt my heart
I am such a fan of Kanchi
I have a collection of them...
guess Ekta couldn't afford a good quality classy one
these days there are a lot of cheap imitations or low quality ones available

Nice post shanthi, wat does the groom taking the brides toe and walking a few steps signify??

Ruhi tying the knot was sweet and emotional, and it just seemed perfect, she is the reason they r tying the knot and She will b wat keeps them together and united at least to begin wit...

It was nice to c Mrs Bhalla so happy, and even the others, Ishita has married into the family and there is acceptance which is nice to c...

Who in the right minds thought ishita and raman would have a SR knowing how they hate each other...I am surprised Raman didnt object when he found out...

ramans sister giving ishita tips lol...

The wedding was done at 9am...How long do they last? would the meal after the wedding not have been breakfast?

Ishita getting contraceptives was funny, wonder who ordered them but then I remembered ishita cant have kids so she would b hurt to b sent them...Lecture on way...

Shanthi,

Lovely post and I really loved the fusion wedding. As I had asked earlier in another post does the groom really hold on to the toe and go around. They missed the Ammi and Arundhati. I was really suprised to see Simi putting the mettis. It was a lovely wedding. The precap was hilarious. Dont you think Ishu is like Jodha jumping the gun and misunderstanding very quickly?
