My mother says I think too much before spending: Shrenu Parikh

Baroda girl Shrenu Parikh, who bagged a lead role in Havan right after her first show Gulaal, may have been lucky to get good roles, but things were not the same when she first came to Mumbai to find her share of fame.

In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, the lady, who is making an impression playing Aastha in Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon…Ek Baar Phir gives some investment tips to our readers in our Lifestyle section.

How important is money to you?

The people who say ‘money cannot buy everything’ may be the ones who have enough money but cannot value it. I think in today’s world where prices of every commodity are soaring high, it is very important for one to be financially stable.

Are you an impulsive buyer?

No, I am not. In fact my mother always pin points about me being a too much of a thinker when it comes to spending.

What are the investments that you have made?

I am too young to decide on making investments. My mother looks after my investments. Till date, I have invested in property and jewellery.

What has been your most expensive purchase?

My most expensive purchase has been a car that I gifted my father, while on another occasion I also contributed money to renovate my house in Baroda.

Do you feel financially secured?

For now, the way my career has shaped up, I do feel financially secured.

Who handles your expenses?

My mother handles all my expenses.

What was your first salary?

My first salary was Rs. 1000 that I earned doing a local jewellery advertisement.

How much money do you carry every day?

My mother tells me that one should never count money; else we might end up losing the same. Hence I never count my money.

Your advice to new investors?

I would like to advise people to make sure and be confident about the investments they make in order to reap in good returns.
