Are women the greatest enemies of other women?

Post by slmu on 2014-05-02, 13:52

Here is a woman Ishita, a wife, a mother, a daughter in law. Scarily, she has faced a woman's most horrible nightmare. She is attacked and almost raped by Parmeet and has managed to luckily escape.

She turns to Sarika, who has faced a similar situation with Parmeet. But Sarika in fear, gives false testimony - supports Parmeet and calls Ishita a liar.

At home, Simmi and Mrs. B are most vocal in their denouncing of Ishita. I can understand Simmi to some extent. Her husband, the father of her child, so she doesn't want to believe he is capable of that. Mrs. B, however, should she have paused and thought a bit? Her daughter in law, the woman she trusts her little granddaughter with is making such accusations. Or is the fear of her daughter's loosing her husband, or loosing face in society etc. more important than Ishita? Should she have given Ishita a proper hearing?

Are women then the greatest enemies of other women? So easily Parmeet has turned tables on Ishita. Neutralizing Sarika, making himself holier than thou in the eyes of the Simmi and Mrs. B. Shouldn't a woman be given a better hearing? While there maybe women who do accuse men to get what they want, Ishita is not that sort. And she does not gain anything from making these accusations.

Raman is in a tough spot. I get that he is confused and doesn't  know who to side with. Understandable. But I don't think he should have openly questioned Ishita about how Parmeet knows that he and Ishita don't sleep together.

No doubt at some stage the truth will be revealed. How are they going to face Ishita?

A great episode with excellent performances all around.

yes women can b the greatest enemy of each other but they can also b the greatest strength....unfortunately women live in a society which double standards still apply...where women r questioned first blamed regardless of who is at fault...as long as that continues change will not happen...

Pity isn't it? Blame first..

Wonder in what way they can possibly apologize to Ishita.

Divyanka' s acting was soooo good ... Wonderful thought provoking post... That's how men get away with these acts... They know they CAN get away... Sigh... A very touching episode...

@Shanthi

Good subject
Perhaps the problem arises, when there is a need of choosing which side to be on, some chose at that Hour to be a relative/friend of the perpetrator, rather than identifying as a individual person who believes in what is right & wrong

@Shanthi

There is one more thing, because of constant talk since historical times, by mostly men and in certain cases women also, that women's main job is only to look after the household. (Change has began now for many, but the majority still are lagging behind)
This has unfortunately resulted in for many women, that home and its people are the only focal point of their life, with scant attention paid to their own individual lives.
So many of them will always feel that everything is perfect with the people of their household, as they have lived with them for most of their lives & consequently they do not see behind the four walls of their house & also refuse to see the faults of the perpetrators, who are part of their family

Hmm that's true isn't it? Unless and until it happens in front of their own eyes they are refusing to see it. And here, for Mrs. B, its Simmi's 'suhaag'.. scary thought for any mother that she has handed over her daughter to such a person

@ Shanthi

Things will only change if women like Simmi decide to separate from their husband, instead of overlooking or compromising on such things and if Mrs B also supports her in this effort.

True. What do you think Simmi will do when the truth is revealed?

Really difficult to say, because Parmeet is a type of person, who has already thought of this, mostly he will convince Simmi, that while it was a mistake on his part versus Ishita, in Dubai it was Sarika, who was at fault. He will say emotionally to Simmi to give him one more chance for their child. Through he is a person who will never change.

Yes I think so too.. it would be wonderful if she dumped him.. but I guess that won't happen.

I am also wondering that the new project that Raman has with Ashok whether Parmeet will get together with Ashok to sabotage it.

So far Parmeet has not taken a specific notice of the Project, but tomorrow is another day.  hpee

One more way for the show to be stretched.

Of Course, but many fences(Relations of Ishita with Mrs B & Simmi) which got broken will have to be mended again with time.
It would not be that natural, if they show in haste that Ishita & Mrs B are on the same page again.

Probably, after Raman throws Param out, he might join hands with Ashok in their new project and both villans will try to sabbotage the work.... But Raman has got the authority of deciding factor, so there are chances of more drama...

No it has to be done slowly.. Mrs. B should feel guilty but the guilty don't always fall over themselves apologizing.
